Born in 1963 in Liege, married and father of 4 children.

Graduated from the University of Liege. Training in general and cardiovascular & thoracic surgery under Prof N Jaquet and R Limet in  Liege.

One year fellowship in Broussais hospital (Paris) in the team leaded by Prof A Carpentier and JN Fabiani. 9 months  training in pediatric with Prof Marc de leval ad J stark at GOS and Harley street clinic (London).

Phd (thèse d’agrégation de l’enseignement supérieur) in 1997 « contribution to muscle powered cardiac assistance: cardio and aorta -myoplasties ».

Professor of anatomy at ULG since 2010.

Expertise in valvular surgery (mitral valve), mini invasive techniques and thoracic surgery.

Liesbeth Rosseel is an interventional cardiologist at the newly merged AZORG Hospital in Aalst, Belgium. She trained in coronary interventions at ZNA Middelheim (Belgium) and structural heart interventions at Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen, Denmark). After serving as a Consultant Cardiologist at Galway University Hospital (Ireland), she returned to Belgium in 2021. She completed her PhD in 2024 on “Lean TAVI” and specializes in structural interventions, including LAAC, PFO/ASD closure, and emerging percutaneous valve therapies.
