I’m passionate about rhythm management and dedicated to patient care. After completing my medical degree and PhD at UCL (Be), I followed a 2-y interventional electrophysiology fellowship program at the Montreal Heart institute (Canada) . Back in Belgium, I worked for 10 years at the Clinique Universitaire Saint-Luc and since 2020 at AZ sint Jan in Bruges. I’m currently serving as vice president for the Belgian Heart Association (BEHRA) and elected board member for the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA).

Philippe Jorens obtained his MD degree at the University of Antwerp in 1987.
Thereafter, he was trained in internal and critical care medicine. Since 1994, he works at the department of critical care medicine of the Antwerp University Hospital, first as a board-certified staff member, later on as Chairman.
He also obtained a phD degree in pharmacology .He teaches clinical pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Antwerp.
His research mainly focuses on the role of biomarkers in sepsis and central neurological disorders, as well as on the effects of illicit drugs on different organs.
