Chloé Desmedt is a second year doctoral student at KU Leuven's department of cardiology and the academic centre for nursing and midwifery. Her research focuses on improving patient care through Artificial Intelligence solutions. During her PhD she will develop a natural language processing based algorithm that can identify palliative care needs from the electronic health record. The overall aim is to generate an automatic alert system that will improve the early integration of palliative care for patients with cardiovascular disease
