This Heart Week, as we shine a spotlight on Women’s Heart Health, is the perfect opportunity to introduce the Gender Task Force — and explain why it was created.
Because cardiovascular disease does not affect women and men in the same way.
From risk factors and symptoms to diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes, important differences exist between women and men. Yet, these differences have not always been sufficiently recognised in cardiovascular care and research.
💡 Recognising gender differences is not about choosing one over the other. It is about understanding what each patient needs.
That is why a Gender Task Force is needed: to raise awareness, promote knowledge, support research, and help advance more equitable, personalised cardiovascular care for everyone.
Different hearts. Different needs. One goal: better cardiovascular health for all.
