BSC and 9 other associations have co-signed an open letter to Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke addressing an outdated hurdle in healthcare: nurses and paramedics being barred from exhibition areas at medical conferences.
Strict interpretations of drug advertising laws still treat sponsor spaces as off-limits to them, forcing an artificial separation among professionals who work side-by-side every day. With recent legislative reforms recognising nurses' expanded roles, we believe it is time for regulatory policies to catch up. We are calling on the Minister to grant nurses and paramedics equal access to product information and medical education so we can continue advancing true interprofessional care.
