We oppose the recent cost-saving measures in cardiovascular care. While we understand the need for economies, reducing reimbursement for essential procedures and medications, such as statins, risks harming the most vulnerable patients and may lead to higher long-term costs through increased hospitalisations and chronic disease.
We urge the Minister to focus instead on developing better data collection and control mechanisms based on quality, not quantity.
