State-of-the-art lectures will be given by Prof. Dr. Mikael Mazighi (Hôpital Lariboisière, Paris, FR) and Dr. Martin Swaans (St. Antonius, Utrecht, NL). The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Dr. W. Budts (UZ Leuven, BE).
Prof. Dr. Mikael Mazighi is neurologist specialized in the acute and interventional treatment of stroke. He is highly active in the field, and co-author of numerous publications in high-impact journals. He will cover the latest trends in acute and long-term treatment of patients with stroke.
Dr. Martin Swaans is cardiologist specialized in cardiac imaging and transcatheter interventions for structural heart disease. Specifically for stroke prevention, he has experience in left atrial appendage closure, and will focus his talk on diagnosing and treating cardio-embolic causes of stroke.
